About me I was born in California, and I lived there for most of my life. As a child, I lived on the desert, where the summer temperatures could soar up to 120 Fahrenheit. When my children, Mike and Kevin, were young, we lived near San Francisco, and then we moved and lived only 25 minutes away from Disneyland! We moved to Illinois in 2007.
I earned my Bachelors in Elementary Education at Roosevelt University, Chicago. Because of the support of my family, I graduated with honors! I obtained my Illinois endorsement to teach English Language Learners, and I have taken classes in Alaska history and Native cultures. I recently participated in iTrec to learn more about how to incorporate place based service learning in my classroom. I am currently working on my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, at National Louis University. My husband, Greg, and I came to Nome to experience a different way of living. We love learning about the environment, the culture, and animals here. We have met wonderful people, and we are so happy to call Nome home! This is my 6th year teaching at Nome Elementary School! |
